About Us

First-Class Biomedicine Graduates Dedicated to Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists
We are Josh and Matiss, two Biomedical Science graduates from the University of Kent who both achieved First-Class Honours degrees. Having excelled throughout our studies, we bring not only subject knowledge but also a real passion for teaching and supporting students in their learning journey.
At J&M Tutoring, we specialise in GCSE and A-Level Biology, providing high-quality, interactive, and personalised sessions that are tailored to each student’s needs. Our approach focuses on making complex topics clear and engaging, building confidence as well as exam technique.
As tutors, we pride ourselves on the quality of the sessions we provide. Our aim is not only to help students achieve the best possible grades but also to develop a genuine interest in the subject, encouraging curiosity and confidence that lasts beyond exams.
Meet The Tutors
At J&M Tutoring, we are more than just science graduates; we are passionate educators who believe learning should be engaging, inspiring, and tailored to each student. With first-hand experience of excelling in Biomedical Science, we are committed to helping every student reach their potential in GCSE and A-Level Biology.

Joshua Denyer AMRSB LIBMS - BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science
Josh graduated with First-Class Honours in Biomedical Science and carried out advanced research in biotechnology with his dissertation 'Optimising a Vesicle-Based Expression System for High-Yield Anti-HER2 Nanobody Production'.
He is now studying for a Master’s in Biochemistry by Research, with the thesis titles "Engineering Bifunctional Antibody Constructs via SPAAC Click Chemistry". Alongside this, he supports undergraduate students in the lab as a sessional demonstrator, and a Postgraduate Academic Ambassador, developing academic content for Natural Sciences to be delivered to secondary schools and colleges.
Josh has a talent for breaking down complex ideas into simple, practical steps, making Biology both clear and enjoyable for his students.
Outside of tutoring, Josh has a strong passion for music, especially guitar, and enjoys motorsport and astronomy, bringing creativity, focus, and curiosity into his teaching.

Matiss Sijambalapitija - BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science
Matiss achieved a First-Class Honours in Biomedical Science, specialising in cardiovascular research with his dissertation 'Investigating the Mechanisms and Therapeutic Interventions in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction'.
Building on this academic foundation, Matiss is now pursuing his ambition to study medicine to further his career in healthcare.
He prides himself on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment that builds confidence as well as knowledge, helping students not only prepare for exams but also develop a deeper understanding of science.
Away from tutoring, Matiss plays competitive cricket and is an amateur astrophotographer, hobbies that reflect both teamwork and precision, qualities he brings to every lesson.
Our Approach to Tutoring
Lessons
All lessons are delivered through Google Meet, making them convenient and accessible from home. Sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs.
Communication
We set up a WhatsApp group with parents, Matiss, and Josh to make communication easy. This allows us to discuss scheduling, answer questions quickly, and share updates about progress.
Feedback & Planning
Lessons typically alternate between Josh and Matiss, giving students the benefit of two teaching styles. After each session, we provide detailed feedback on what was covered and adapt the study plan to keep students on track to sucess.
